Basically sewing all my life, fascinated with fabrics, thread, trims, buttons - and creating! My father bought me a toy sewing machine when I was 5; it broke and broke again, so he told my mother that I could sew on hers, if it broke, he would buy her another!

 

I sewed all the scraps and leftovers I could find. I was fascinated by the quilting ladies at church…. “Mom, why don’t you make a quilt?” “Oh, no!” She said, “I will not cut up perfectly good, new, fabric into tiny pieces and then sew it back together again!”

 

I studied textiles and majored in Home Economics Education in college. I’ve been a teacher of crafts and sewing ever since I left college.

 

I’ve made pieced quilts, whole cloth quilts, baby quilts, art quilts, quilted clothing, bags, and house shoes. Having the Bernina Q long arm machine is a dream! I love to create and design the stitching that magically marries pieced work, batting, and backing into amazing, practical quilts. I wish my father had seen this machine!
