About the event
NOTE: In workshop we will assemble the placemats with straight-line quilting for each binding technique. Plan ahead and PRE-CUT the fabrics as listed to make 6 placemats.
What to bring to workshop:
Sewing machine with ¼” seam foot, zipper foot, quilt guide, #11 or #12 Quilting needles
Matching threads, bobbin; Small scissors, Chalk marker
3”x 12” ruler, Rotary cutter and small mat, Groovin’ Piping Trimming Tool
Pins, quilt clips and any other notions you would normally quilt with
Small iron, pressing mat, Best Press spray- or water
Fabric Requirements:
4- ½ yd. prints (quilt top prints) sub cut:
6 9 ½”x 9 ½” squares – center block
6 2 ½”x 9 ½” strips – left side of center block.
6 2 ½”x 11 ½” strips – top of center block
6 6” x 11 ½” rectangles – right side
6 2 ½”x 17” strips – bottom strip
2 yds fabric (backing and binding fabric) sub cut:
6 fat quarters
Remainder: save for binding strips
¼ yd Contrast for piping
Piping Cording: 1/16” polyester by Susan K Cleveland
Quilt batting- crib size, or large scraps; sub cut:
6 18”x 14”
